Balancing Urban Development and Water Conservation

Raingardens and Infiltration Basins

Raingardens are designed to capture stormwater that runs off of impervious surfaces, such as rooftops, conventional pavements and compacted lawns. By redirecting runoff it allows less polluted water to enter stormsewer systems that discharge into streams, lakes and rivers.

With 15+ years of experience in design, construction and maintenance, we know how to optimize raingarden function, aesthetics and cost.

Design and Construction

With our designs, creativity is what we are all about.  But first we take a step back to see the whole picture, which is vital to understanding the nuances of each unique property.  A well-thought-out design that emphasises function, budget and aesthetics, easily leads into the next stage, which is installation by our in-house construction crew.  Our diverse team of designers, contractors and maintenance managers, will get the job done for you every step of the way.

You’ve invested in the design and installation. The next two years are critical to performance and aesthetics.

We talk to our customers about allocating a maintenance budget right from the start. It only makes sense to protect your investment.

Our maintenance team will help you put together the right plan – whether you need us to pull weeds, keep things watered, remove sediment or provide direction to help you do the work yourself.  We treat every project like it’s our own and ensuring that your raingarden is beautiful and functional is of the utmost importantance.

Inspection and Compliance

The movement of water is powerful and needs to be monitored. Structures and facilites receiving stormwater runoff require maintenance and frequent inspections to ensure they are operating properly. We can put together a reference guide that is specific to your project and easy for your own maintenance crews to use. Some cities, watershed districts or counties may ask you to file an Operation and Maintenance Manual with them, and provide yearly reports with frequent inspections and records of any completed maintenance work. We’re happy to step in to provide the assistance you need in order to make this a smooth and easy process. These are the services we provide to get you back into compliance and keep you there:

  • Operation & Maintenance Manual and other reporting forms,
  • Inspections,
  • Design and construction,
  • Maintenance, and
  • Technical support.

I have already recommended you! Our consultant, Shelly, was extremely knowledgeable. She explained (the process) in technical detail. She is the reason I chose Earth Wizards over the other 5 bidders. Installation crew was terrific and exceeded my expectations.
